About Us
NYU Langone Health’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute improves the way clinical and translational research is conducted. We provide essential research services, resources, and training that foster collaboration and accelerate the transition of research discoveries into treatments that benefit patients.
With funding from the National Institutes of Health’s Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program, we develop and share methods for improving the efficiency of research teams at NYU Langone, as well as the quality of their research. We also help our researchers engage community stakeholders in New York City, one of the nation’s largest, most diverse metropolises.
NYU Langone Health’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute improves the quality, efficiency, and impact of medical research, with funding and data management support services, education, and career development programs, and tools to improve outreach and the integration of research findings into local communities.
Under the executive leadership of Miriam A. Bredella, MD, MBA, principal investigator and director, and James P. Holahan, MPH, MS, executive director of administration, the Institute’s mission is to apply the principles and practices of translational research to move study findings from the laboratory to the community.
With input from internal, external, and scientific review committees; working groups; and a community advisory board, we engage and partner with local communities to identify targets for research, to plan and conduct translational research studies, and implement new discoveries.
