Who We Are
We are a collaborative partnership among academic researchers and community health workers at the NYU Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI), NYU Community Health Worker Research & Resource Center (CHW-RRC) and the Beatrice W. Welters Breast Health Outreach & Navigation Program at NYU Langone Health.
What We Do
We provide a free, on-demand training for all community health workers and patient navigators to enhance health literacy about clinical research.
How We Do It
This innovative research training provides community health workers with a basic level of competency in clinical research to better advocate for their communities’ health needs and enhance the quality and effectiveness of their work.
Why We Do It
A well-trained community workforce promotes deeper integration of community stakeholders into the research team and connects underserved populations with clinical research opportunities to enhance quality of care.
This research training provides online learners with foundational knowledge in the following competencies: fundamentals of clinical research, scientific concepts, clinical research design, biomedical ethics, research myths and misconceptions, study management and operations, communications and teamwork, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
