About our Certificate and Training Programs
The CTSI offers a range of nine-credit certificate programs designed to provide healthcare professionals with specialized training in areas such as translational research, healthcare delivery science, health disparities and equity, comparative effectiveness, and health innovations. Each program combines foundational coursework with electives tailored to the specific focus area, culminating in a New York State–approved certificate. Open to qualified professionals with relevant experience or advanced degrees, these programs support career advancement through rigorous academic and practical learning.

Certificate in Translational Research
Expand your clinical research knowledge with this nine-credit program for healthcare professionals.
Applicants are expected to have completed a masters or doctoral degree or have experience in or plans to participate in a relevant field of research. The program is open to NYU Langone–affiliated healthcare professionals, including dental, medical, and nursing school postdoctoral trainees and faculty, as well as individuals from other institutions affiliated with the Clinical and Translational Science Awards of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The Certificate in Translational Research Program provides foundational training in clinical and translational research methods to healthcare professionals at NYU Langone and its NYC Health + Hospitals affiliates.
As part of this certificate program, you complete two required courses—Clinical Research Methods and Introduction to Biostatistical Analysis—and select electives from the translational research concentration in our MS in Clinical Investigation.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit a completed Certificate in Translational Research program application, which includes a CV, an official transcript from your undergraduate, or most recently obtained degree, a letter of recommendation, a personal statement describing career plans beyond the certificate program, a financial statement regarding payment for the program, and a recent photograph (optional).
Certificate in Healthcare Delivery Science
Obtain the tools and knowledge to develop, test, and share strategies to improve the delivery of healthcare.
The Certificate in Healthcare Delivery Science provides students with the tools and knowledge to develop, test, and share strategies to improve the delivery of healthcare. The program focuses on the unique methods and areas of healthcare delivery science, which include implementation science, quality of care improvement, patient safety, change management, and institutional policy.
Applicants are expected to have completed a master’s or doctoral degree or have experience in or plans to participate in a relevant field of research. The program is open to NYU Langone-affiliated healthcare professionals, including dental, medical, and nursing school postdoctoral trainees and faculty, as well as individuals from other institutions affiliated with the Clinical and Translational Science Awards of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
As part of this nine-credit certificate program, you complete the following courses: Healthcare Delivery Science, Analytic Techniques for Healthcare Delivery Science, and a third course of your choosing. For the third course you may choose from Advanced Biostatistical Analysis, Advanced Epidemiology, Health Services Research, or Introduction to Dissemination and Implementation Science Research. Gain a strong background in health disparities and health equity, population health, and healthcare delivery science research with this nine-credit program.
The Certificate in Health Disparities and Health Equity Research provides students with a strong background in health disparities and health equity, population health, and healthcare delivery science research. The program emphasizes the role of social determinants of health and multi-level strategies to advance health equity. The content is focused on the integration of various disciplines to understand science, practice, and policy issues in health disparities research.

Certificate in Comparative Effectiveness and Implementation Research
The advanced certificate in the Comparative Effectiveness and Implementation Research Training Program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is geared toward students who have prior training in foundational clinical research methods (epidemiology or biostatistics, for example) and want to gain a background in comparative effectiveness and implementation research.
If you are interested in this program but do not have experience in clinical research methods, you can be trained in these skills through our MS in clinical investigation.
As part of this nine-credit certificate program, you complete three courses: Introduction to Dissemination and Implementation Science Research, Meta-Analyses and Systematic Reviews, Economic Evaluation in Health and Medicine. Other courses that may be offered include Advanced Methods in Observational Data Analysis.

Gain the knowledge and training necessary to engage in drug discovery and development with this nine-credit program for clinicians, basic and clinical translational research investigators, and other healthcare professionals.
Our Certificate in Health Innovations and Therapeutics program prepares clinicians, research investigators, and healthcare professionals at NYU Langone and its NYC Health + Hospitals affiliates to engage in drug innovation, discovery, and development.
As part of this nine-credit certificate program, one completes course offerings from the health innovations and therapeutics concentration in our MS in Clinical Investigation, including Biotechnology Industry, Structure, and Strategy; Drug Development in a New Era; and Molecular Signaling in the Development and Discovery of Therapeutics.

Intensive Program in Clinical Research Methods
The Intensive Training in Research Statistics, Ethics, and Protocol Informatics and Design (INTREPID) program is offered as a nine-credit, three-and-a half-week summer immersive for medical students and healthcare professionals.
